Job Title:                Deli 3rd Shift Clerk

FLSA Status:          Hourly

Reports To:           Deli Manager

 

Responsible for ensuring that all company policies and procedures are being followed during shift.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides excellent services to all guests
  • Waits on guests when in need of assistance
  • Assists guests with finding items they are looking for
  • Takes special orders
  • Slices cheese for the service case
  • Changes all cheese trays
  • Cleans glass and wipe out case, doors, and door tracks
  • Slice cheese to fill the case while stacking on trays to the standards of the department
  • Slices meat for the service case
  • Changes all meat sammies
  • Cleans glass and wipe out case, doors, and door tracks
  • Slice meat to fill case while stacking on trays to the standards of the department
  • Keeps everything clean and tidy
  • Cleans meat and cheese slicers when finished
  • Cleans up area (sweep floors, wipe off counters, etc.)
  • Pull, face and fill items on the self-service case
  • Pulls all outdated product; price anything if necessary
  • Face and fill everything
  • Make any trays if needed
  • Proper filling
  • Proper filling will be done as needed and as instructed by the leads of the department
  • Required to maintain food safety logs
  • Ensures all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.   • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of perishable foods
  • Must be neat and clean in appearance, friendly, and inviting
  • Requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers knives, baler, trash compactor, dishwasher
  • Must work at a fast pace

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Stand in one place for a long period of time, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly
  • Lifting up to 45 pounds on a frequent basis

  • The Deli 3rd Shift Clerk position is an hourly position
