Job Description


This position is responsible for:

  1. Managing large and complex IT projects from inception through successful completion utilizing Festival’s Project Management Methodology or PMBOK Standards.
  2. Developing a master project plan that includes plans for scope, charter, change management, tasks, resources, finances, schedules, risks, issues, testing, data migration, training, implementation, communication, and technology adoption.
  3. Providing mentoring, consulting, and support project management practices to other Festival associates.
  4. Managing the performance and effectiveness of project team members including associates, vendors, and contractors.
  5. Sponsor satisfaction as it relates to project completion and project success criteria.
  6. Communicating to all stakeholders about project status, issues, changes, and decisions.



Manage IT Programs or Projects

  • Ensure that the project is completely and correctly planned according to established methodologies and standards
  • Ensure requirements are developed clearly and concisely for projects and review with executive sponsor and users to ensure that the requirements meet current needs and provides flexibility for future business needs
  • Ensure that the project work plan is followed and is continually updated to ensure customer requirements are met in a timely manner
  • Ensure project issues, risks, action items, and decisions are appropriately documented and prioritized to ensure team members are focused on items of most importance
  • Make certain that the project includes appropriate representation from users as well as all IT functions as necessary
  • Assist team members with their tasks and work products when possible and as time allows
  • Ensure that the project is completed on time, within scope and within allocated budget
  • Onboarding new team members by providing orientation, training and guidance on roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure appropriate communication to team members and stakeholders.
  • Keep supervisor and/or VP of IT informed on the status of all assigned projects and escalate issues as needed in a timely manner
  • Develop, maintain, and publish the project plan (tasks, budget, risks, resource, etc.) using appropriate software tools
  • Coordinate with IT and business departments to determine staffing needs; delegate work assignments and coach team members to ensure systems are implemented according to specifications and standards


Production Issues:

  • Plan for project turnover to production and ensure support plans are prepared and effective
  • Identify problem trends (single site or overall) pro-actively
  • Follow established process for problem handling or resolution



  • Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor



  • Bachelor’s degree in a MIS, Computer Science, Project Management or Business Administration related field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in IT Project or Program Management in a large enterprise environment
  • Minimum 5 years implementing ERP, MRP, or other large scale enterprise applications
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, or other project management solutions
  • Experience with retail systems (POS, Backoffice) is preferred
  • Excellent supervisory, management and performance management skills; interpersonal skills; customer service skills; organizational skills; project management skills and knowledge of project management tools; and verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills for problem determination and resolution
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently, as well as cooperate with others
  • Must work within designated normal office hours assigned or required by work
  • May be required to work overtime, including weekends and holidays
