The Training and Execution Specialist must possess strong leadership, training, and communication skills. The position impacts all aspects of the assigned in-store Center Store department by focusing on internal collaboration with the Department Managers, Store Directors, and other Training and Execution Specialists.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the training of Department Managers and associates for assigned department, for all assigned locations and other locations as directed.
    • Sets clear communication of expectations, demonstrating and teaching what good looks like, and instilling accountability for performance with a continuous improvement mindset for all assigned locations.
    • Executes consistent execution across assigned departments with merchandising programs, quality standards, cleanliness, and sanitation and guest service through appropriate coaching and training.
    • Establishes, communicates, and executes standards for guest helpfulness and follows up on guest comments.
    • Communicates, and executes standards for product availability, trains proper ordering, merchandising, and execution of weekly ad plans.
    • Oversees every-day store conditions and retail execution in all assigned store locations as other locations as directed.
    • Responsible for the execution of department resets and planograms for assigned locations/department.

Responsible for completing and sending department recaps for all store visits.
• Oversees the ad production/surveys for assigned locations.
• Responsible for the Coaching and training standards of all department associates on production planning, forecasting, and shrink management.
• Partners with Senior Director to manage overall profitability (CTO) and to ensure alignment with annual operating plan (AOP).
• Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of experience in a leadership level role in the Grocery/Retail industry.
• Prefer candidates with a passion for training and execution . Candidates must be result driven, demonstrate high levels of self-initiative, and have previous Training, Department Manager, and merchandising experience. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in leadership techniques, training, and the coordination of people and resources.
• Proficient in Servant Leadership practices.
• Experience successfully leading a Department is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Monitoring and assessing performance of self, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
• Communicate information accurately and appropriately.
• Excellent Organizational skills are required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills including verbal communication, listening, problem solving, decision making, and being assertive.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
• The associate must possess the ability to work in stores 90% of the time.
• The associate must possess the ability to stand in place for long periods of time; walk in the store; bend, stoop and kneel regularly (50% of time)
• Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination in order to operate equipment

  • This position requires the associate have the ability to have full range of upper body motion in order to occasionally lift stock
    • Must possess functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and to operate equipment
    • The position requires the associate to lift up to 60 pounds on an occasional basis (20% of time)
    • Proper training and knowledge of power equipment which may include: knives and cutters, pallet or power jack, WAV, compactor, and/or baler,


WORK SCHEDULE
The Training and Execution Specialist is a full-time, salaried position, based in the stores (preferably in the markets where stores assigned reside). The work schedule will include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to travel within the state of WI, as business needs dictate.
