Are you passionate about bakery and pastry delights, with a knack for food service and customer service? We’re looking for a dedicated Bakery Lead Merchandiser to join our team! In this role, you'll ensure our Bakery department is always fully stocked with fresh products and eye-catching displays, creating a delightful shopping experience for our customers (though, we refer to them as guests!).

 

Our bakery plays a pivotal role in crafting unforgettable experiences for guests' events and everyday moments alike, ranging from special occasions to everyday indulgences.

 

Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do.  Whether it’s a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you’ll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Job Description

What You'll Do:

As a Festival Foods Bakery Lead Merchandiser, you will:

  • Guide and Support: Reinforce our Festival culture, food service standards, and customer service expectations. Provide guidance and support to our Bakery team, ensuring they deliver exceptional service.
  • Maintain and Build Eye-Catching Displays: Oversee the merchandising of the Bakery department to ensure all products are attractively displayed and meet our high standards. Build, move, and refresh displays to keep them fresh, full, eye-catching and engaging.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with the Department Manager and Bakery associates to maintain top-notch standards and exceed guest expectations.
  • Deliver Exceptional Service: Assist customers with finding items, taking special pastry and bakery orders, and providing excellent service. Answer phones with proper etiquette and help Bakery Clerks with packaging, labeling, and maintaining a clean and organized department.
  • Deliver Quality and Food Safety: Ensure all quality and quantity standards are met, and maintain food safety logs.
  • Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
  • Support the Team: Other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide outstanding customer service and work effectively with guests and team members.
  • Communication Skills: Oral and written communication skills and the ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Food Service Expertise: Knowledge of retail food service, bakery and pastry operations, with a strong understanding of food service standards and practices.
  • Safety and Efficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of safety requirements and the ability to apply on-the-job safety training and safety policies to handle equipment and recognize and react potential hazards effectively.

  • Standing for extended periods of time (70% of the time)

Work Schedule:

This full-time, hourly position includes mornings, afternoons, weekends, and flexibility for evenings and holidays as needed.
