Job Summary

Job Title:       Asset Protection Specialist

FLSA Status: Hourly

Reports To:   Market Asset Protection Manager

Reporting to the Market Asset Protection Manager, the Asset Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud, as well as supporting safety initiatives in their assigned stores. Their primary duties include but are not limited to identifying incidents of dishonesty, reviewing camera footage and exception reports, monitoring the store's physical security, and maintaining a profitability culture in the stores. They must consistently demonstrate integrity and remain focused on store-specific business objectives while supporting critical Asset Protection and business operations.

 

 

Job Description

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partnership and Training
    • Collaborate with Store Directors, Managers, and Associates to enhance profitability and success.
    • Lead and conduct training sessions on theft prevention, safety standards, and emergency response protocols.
    • Act as a subject-matter expert, providing Asset Protection insights and knowledge to store teams.
    • Engage in routine store meetings to reinforce Asset Protection awareness and practices.
  • Conducts Core Asset Protection Functions
    • Investigate internal and external losses, utilizing tools such as camera footage and exception reports.
    • Resolve external cases through research and interviews, collaborating with law enforcement as necessary.
    • Approach and address theft incidents with discretion and professionalism.
    • Maintains a professional relationship with law enforcement agencies.
    • Holds excellent confidentiality skills, especially when dealing with company-related matters.
  • Emergency Response and Preparedness
    • Respond promptly and tactfully to store emergencies or disturbances.
    • Assist in developing and refining Asset Protection programs, focusing on proactive measures and rapid response strategies.
    • Regularly assist in updating and testing emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for various scenarios.
  • Continuous Improvement and Development
    • Regularly evaluates and contributes to the enhancement of Asset Protection strategies
    • Participates in ongoing training and development in Asset Protection, Safety, and Leadership.
  • Follows All Other Duties as Assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Skilled in problem-solving and managing diverse situations.
  • Willingness to undergo training in various related fields.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Effective communication and partnership-building skills.
  • Proficiency in multitasking and project management.
  • Detail-oriented in all forms of communication.
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and OneNote. Ability to preserve the confidentiality of information.
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.

WORK SCHEDULE

The Asset Protection Specialist is a full-time hourly position. The position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs.
