Under the direction of the Community Involvement team, the Community Engagement Internship will provide the opportunity to gain valuable event planning experience, build collaborative relationships with Festival partners and grow leadership skills through tasks focusing on community engagement.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate event logistics with community partners and internal Festival Foods departments
  • Plan, manage and execute in-store and off-site events and promotions as assigned
  • Communicate and update store level personnel with event details
  • Oversee the Big Cart’s presence and event activation at select events across the state
  • Coordinate onsite event execution including social media activation, collaborating with community partners, coordinating event engagement pieces and assist in building an onsite promotional plan
  • Organize and coordinate transportation of silent auction prizes across the state
  • Assist with community efforts designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for the Festival Foods brand
  • Assist with projects and community related duties as assigned by the Community Involvement team
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Pursuing (junior or senior status) B.A. in the following preferable degree(s): public relations, journalism, communications, advertising, marketing, human services or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to manage one’s own time effectively in order to meet required deadlines

 

             PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Sitting or standing 50% of the time
  • Bending, stretching, and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. is required

 

             WORK SCHEDULE

  • The Community Engagement Intern is a part-time, hourly position.
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance within a flexible work schedule
