    Job Title:                             Meat Sanitation/Clean-up

    FLSA Status:                       Hourly

    Reports To:                         Meat Department Manager

     

    The Meat Sanitation/Clean Up effectively cleans the meat department in an effort to exhibit a clean store to our guests as well as to create a clean and safe environment for other meat associates.

    Job Description

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Cleans all areas of the meat department to include:
    • Emptying garbage
    • Washing dishes
    • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces, such as saws, grinders, mixers, racks, tables, counter tops, service cases, drains, etc.
    • Sweeping and mopping the floor
    • Cleaning the coolers and holding areas
    • Provides customer service to guests
    • Assists guests with finding items from the service case
    • Answers the telephone and assists callers using proper phone etiquette
    • Takes orders and special requests
    • Packages and prices items from the service case
    • Required to maintain food safety logs
    • Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
    • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
    • Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.     • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel
    • Good oral and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of perishable foods
    • Must be neat and clean in appearance, friendly, and inviting
    • Must be able to work at a fast pace

     

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Standing for a long period of time, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly
    • Lifting up to 80 pounds on a frequent basis
    • Frequently being near moving machinery
    • Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures
    • Ability to work in damp environments and properly handle cleaning chemicals

    WORK SCHEDULE

    • The Meat Sanitation/ Clean-up is a part time or full time hourly position
